*NEW VIDEOS!* I Suck At Life + Boy Meets World

I made a very very late video for the 4th of July, but then I figured it wasn't worth posting and then I just kept forgetting. After the forgetting, I just kept avoiding it until we find ourselves in the situation we are now.

I've been reading a lot, and not much else.

I don't know.

I'm actually thinking of not doing vlogs anymore, but maybe just blogging about the shows instead. I think I might be able to get more out that way. I feel self-conscience in front of the camera and I know that I don't always get out everything I want to say in a single video. I'll think about it some more.

So here's the late late late video

So then today, I get a message from my friend who says that she needs me to vlog today.

Meh, who I am to argue.

*NEW VIDEO!* Let's Talk About: True Blood

This is another one of those shows that I just avoided at all cost. One day, my sister told me to at least watch the very first episode (she was still mad that I had gotten her hooked on the Twilight books).

I made it about 2 minutes in before I shut it off and then walked away. It was so BAD. The accents were horrible (I live in the south and hearing it every day is bad enough, but these people were MURDERING an already bad sound and it just hurt my brain), the acting was terrible, and it was YET ANOTHER vampire show to crop up form the craze that swept the world a few years ago and has still yet to end. I wanted nothing to do with it.

But I finally sat back down (after about a week) and made it through the first episode. Ugh.

I kept watching because my sister still liked to make me feel guilty about the Twilight thing and then FINALLY we got to the good stuff. And by "good stuff" I, of course, mean the first appearance of Eric Northman. Hellllloooooooo......

I'LL TAKE IT!

I decided to read the books sometime after that and... Ugh. Again. It's horrible. It is just horrible literature (much like the Twilight books), but there is just something about it. You know that you are going to hate every moment of it, but you just have to keep reading to see what trash the writer is going to come up with next.

I went through all of the Twilight books just waiting for steamy, sparkly vampire sex... Nope. Not a damn word.

I went through this, hoping for... Well, I don't really now what I was hoping. Something astounding.

I'm still waiting.

*NEW VIDEO!* Let's Talk About Psych

I know that the video falls really short, but there is SO much I could say about this show.

I love the random television and movie references, the appreciation to 80's and early 90's music that they just stick into the show at random points. The writers and cast have a sense of humor that is so similar to mine and I find myself having to pause it sometimes just so I can laugh out loud and not miss anything that's going on.

Plus, James and DulĂ© have such chemistry that you really do start to believe that they've known each other since they were in grade school.  Both of them are so talented.

Ugh, I'm seriously drawing a blank on what else I can say right now, but if you have not seen this show, please do. It is fucking fantastic and I think soon, I might go and watch the whole thing all over again.

*NEW VIDEO!* Biggest Loser - An Update

I don't know if some of you have been reading the blog lately, but there have been changes happening.

I moved back in with my parents. This was, however, after an EXTENSIVE round of even more job interviews that didn't pan out despite spending hours and hours in the car driving back and forth between this and that.

I am le tired.

I did manage to finish a book (the review is up in a past entry) and make today's video amidst unpacking and cleaning and spending a little time with friends and throwing shit away and selling stuff on eBay and just generally reevaluating pretty much every single one of my life choices.

We'll see how this latest string of job interviews go before I make any further plans, though.

Anyway, so here's the update:

Next week: Psych!

*NEW VIDEO!* Let's Talk About: Teen Wolf

Why did I let myself get dragged into this?

Why do I let Tumblr pull me in to things that I previously had no interest in?

(Ew, that last one ended in a preposition...)

P.S. It should be noted that I made and edited this video before the last two episodes aired so there might be some changes that I would have made if I hadn't already jumped in with both feet trying to get some videos down and ready in case I forgot to film one week and needed back-ups.

The spot for least favorite episode would have DEFINITELY gone to the "The Fox and the Wolf" because that episode bored me to death. The flashbacks about the Nogitsune took WAAAAAYYYYY longer than they needed to and I just really wanted to see some more evil!Stiles, because apparently that has become the driving force in my life.

There were also some shots in last night's episode that I DEFINITELY would have added to the collection of pictures of evil!Stiles giving his evil looks (the ones that make certain parts of me do the rumba).

Why do I love the hollow-cheeked, drugged-out, dark under-eye circles look on him so much?!?!

Derek looks good with it, too...

*NEW VIDEO!* Let's Talk About: Hannibal

I'm going to have to come up with something to do for the pictures from now on. I got a copyright notice. WHAT THE HELL ELSE AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? I use, like, 2 seconds of a picture just to illustrate who I'm talking about. Ugh, whatever.

Anyway. Hannibal.

I kinda didn't want to watch this show because my heart and soul will always belong to Sir Anthony Hopkins, but on a whim, after season one had already ended and Tumblr would not shut up about it, I picked it up and OH MY GOD...

The visuals in the show are amazing and beautiful, plus they REALLY don't skip on the violence and carnage. I think for something with this subject matter, that's a really important thing.  It's beautifully acted by everyone in the cast and I have to now admit that Mads has stolen my heart in his portrayal of Dr. Lecter.

Two severed thumbs up. Would watch again.

*NEW VIDEO!* The Post Pre-Interview Test Video

SO!

Things have been interesting the past two weeks, what with all the interview nonsense.  I don't think there will ever be a point in my life where I walk into an interview situation and actually feel like I'm going to get the job.  Does that part ever get any better?

Someone asked me why I don't just get a little job first so that I at least have an income and just look for another job later. The answer to that is both simple and very complex. I don't want to rush into a job that I think is going to be temporary and would most likely drive me insane, because I know the type of person I am. I am the type of person who would STAY in that hell job, bored and frustrated for the rest of my life if given the choice because I would be safe.  I fear and loathe the interview and resume proccess so much that I would just settle down with whatever pissy little occupation set itself in front of me and then end up hating myself more and more as time goes by (re: Wal-Mart for 5 years).

I pretty much know that nothing around here is going to make me happy (that would involve limitless amounts of cash, a personal trainer, and Tom Hiddleston on speed dial), but I at least want to find something that I can make a living off of and not want to go postal and stab all of my co-workers in the face (re: Wal-Mart for 5 years).

And so that brings me to all the running around I have been doing lately. Let me break it down for you:

Feb 1-2: On the coast with parents
Feb 3: Drive 2 1/2 hours to prison interview #1
~1 1/2 hours to Hattiesburg
(this is where the back pain began and I could not stand up)
Feb 7: Back to parents for chiropractor
Feb 9: Back to house
Feb 11: Up to Tara's for prison interview #2
Feb 13: 3 1/2 hours back to coast for chiropractor
Feb 17: 3 1/2 hours back to Tara's for office pre-interview test

And I have to head back to Hattiesburg tomorrow for the Hideout fundraiser.

Then back to the coast Friday for the chiropractor.

I am tired.

*NEW VIDEO!* Driving in Pain

So, we have the exciting and fun story of my awesome birthday from last week.  That was fun.

Then we have the story about my back. That was also fun.

Now, we just have me trying to survive. Looking for a job (badly and without result, I might add), and spending a lot of time in the car, even though it hurts like hell.

The good part about this job interview is that I get to visit my friend Tara and maybe forget about things for a while... before I just have to get back in the car (which really does not feel good at this time) and go BACK down to the coast to see the chiropractor again.

Wow, these updates really suck.

I'll try to get back to doing 'Let's Talk About...' next week.

Let's Talk About: Once Upon A Time (November 26, 2013)

YAY! This is the last catch-up post for the video blog! Everything from here on out shall be new stuff only! Woooo!!!

There are some videos that are in between the last one posted and this one, but they are both really short and not really that important.  It's mostly just me talking about how lazy I am for not making videos.

Job Update vlog (October 15, 2013)

My Pseudo Job (October 29, 2013)

And then there's this one.

I reeeeaaalllllyyyyy didn't want to watch this show. Seriously, if it wasn't for my roommate sitting me down and forcing me to watch, I would not be where I am today.  It took me a while to warm up to it, but once I did (I admit, it was mostly Rumplestiltskin) I absolutely loved it.

This was posted before the season finale, and having seen the teaser for the next season, I CANNOT WAIT!

Shitty Birthday to Me *WITH BONUS VIDEO*

I went home for the weekend to spend some time with my parents for my birthday.

It was nice.

We went out to eat (I had some great fried eggplant and pasta), we sat around and just chilled.  My mom made me a Brian from Family Guy...

It was a good weekend.

And then it was Monday.

I should have known what to expect. I had been there before interviewing for a different position and some part of my brain that wants to remain optimistic thought that it would be different this time and less taxing. I was wrong. I hate driving. I especially hate driving long distances by myself. Even though I had been there once before, it was still unknown territory for me and that always raises my anxiety levels.

Since I relied heavily on my phone's GPS, it ran the battery out quicker than normal so I dared not play games while I was waiting to be called in.  Hearing the other people talk, it was very clear how things worked there and I knew from almost the moment I walked in that I wasn't getting the job.  Still, some part of me knew that if I just walked out like I wanted to, heads would turn and whispers would come out. So I stayed.

I was uncomfortable (I decided to put in an effort and wore an outfit that made me feel like I was cutting off the circulation to my torso) and the weather had gotten colder and I had no jacket. I felt inadequate and out of place.

People wonder why I never go out and have a life and do things... It's because it feels like THAT all of the time for me.

But I stuck it out. Went in to the interview, tried to smile and make nice with a little small talk, and answered their questions. It took about 5 minutes. Very anti-climactic end to a really elaborate build-up of shit.

And then I had to drive some more. This time, with the thoughts of how depressing this birthday has been while I sit in my car, still cold and uncomfortable, and do the drive of shame back home.

My sister was nice enough to take me out to dinner (we had planned to go out Wednesday, but she knew I needed it sooner) with my nephew. It helped to get my mind off things. Then we just watched TV and laughed over stupid things.

It was a really nice end to a shitty day.

So now I'm a year older with nothing to show for it. *shrug* But, what else is there to do?

Let's Talk About: Sons of Anarchy (October 8, 2013)

Getting into this show was actually because of a mistake.  For some reason, I thought that the main character was played by Ben Foster (for whom I carry a huge torch) and that's why I started watching.

I am an idiot.

When I found out that it was actually Charlie Hunnam, who I knew nothing about, I decided to do some research and found out he was the Justin character in the UK version of 'Queer As Folk'...

Not to mention Opie was the guy from Remember the Titans!

Count. Me. In.

Note: This was posted before the season finale. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor.

*NEW VIDEO!* Purple Skittles

I know this video is hella late.

Meh.

I was feeling lazy.  There's a weather... thing happening. It's fucking cold.  The schools were all closed, no work, people afraid to drive because of ice (because when you live in the south, people fear change and get stupid when faced with something different).

Then I forgot to upload on Tuesday. Then it took 5ever to upload on YouTube today.  It's just been weird.

Let's Talk About: Sherlock (August 27, 2013)

Like so many other of the shows I love, I did not want to watch this one.  I thought it was a stupid idea, I thought BennyBatch was ugly and had a stupid name, and I wanted nothing to do with this at all.

Now I want to show you some of the Twitter/Facbook reaction posts I made while watch the FIRST EPISODE...

  1. "Okay. Fine. I'm going to start watching BBC's Sherlock with the Cucumberpatch guy... *siiiiiiiiiigh*"
  2. "UGH! I was not supposed to like this show. I resigned myself to hating it... WHY WON'T MOFFET LET ME HATE IT?!?! ::shakes fist::"
  3. "::whimpers:: I wasn't supposed to like it..."
  4. "His eyes are continuously moving. They're never still... And he always has this affronted look on his face, as if everything offends him..."
  5. "WHAT IS THIS SHOW DOING TO ME?!?! #Sherlock"
  6. "Showing Mom Sherlock."
Yeah. All that was in the first hour.  Two things got me: Riding crop. Voice.

Note the date: This was posted to my YouTube before season 3 aired so just keep that in mind.

*SPECIAL EDITION* Let's Talk About: Tombstone (August 13, 2013)

I decided to put my big sister in my vlog. We like talking about Tombstone. We like talking about the mustaches of Tombstone. Who doesn't?

I'm your huckleberry...

Let's Talk About: Queer As Folk [US] (August 6, 2013)

My friend Jessica really got me into this show.  It was really nice of her to give me her copy of season 1 while we were going through stuff in her house.  She and I still talk about this show in terms of characters' hair styles and who's dating who.  Like, I'll see a hot guy and say "He has really great hair!" and she'll ask "Season 2 Justin hair or Season 4 Justin hair?"

We're awesome like that.

Jessica, if you're reading this, we need to have a marathon so you can disagree with me for not shipping Brian/Justin with you.

*NEW VIDEO!* Let's Talk About: Brothers & Sisters

While the details are unclear as to how I got into this show (though I'm pretty sure it ended up being because of the chick from 'Six Feet Under' with a whole lot of Sally Field faces as a bonus.)

And even though my mother and I have sworn to hate Calista Flockhart 5ever because she had the audacity to marry Harrison Ford (on whom my mother has a gigantic school girl crush) I really loved Ally McBeal, so she kinda has a special place in my heart.

At first, this show just confused the hell out of me because there were so many people and I had to remember all of their names and ugh! Plus, it was just like a big huge soap opera with people dying and cheating on everyone, and secret siblings who are then not siblings, and then more secret siblings... It's usually not something that I would watch voluntarily (I am not counting the time in high school when I started watching 'As The World Turns,' don't judge me).

It's weird, but I never really got bored with the show. Even with all of the sharks they jumped, I was still in it until the end.

Let's Talk About: Star Trek [TOS] (July 30, 2013)

I can remember as a little girl, my brother and dad would love to watch the Star Trek movies and talk about the shows.  I, being the annoying little shit that I was (am), chalked it up to stupid boy sci-fi stuff and went back to... whatever the hell I was interested in in those days. New Kids on the Block or something (but I can't really joke about that because I still like them, damnit).

It's a sad story to tell, but it wasn't until the 2009 reboot that I really started to get to know the characters and wanted to know more about where they came from.  I piled through all that I could: books, comics, the original show, movies, fanfiction, Enterprise schematics, Klingon language tutorials, Vulcan anatomy websites (THOSE were interesting)...

I should now probably seek rehab.

(Note: since posting this video, I have decided to give TNG a second chance.  It probably has everything to do with Wil Wheaton's book Just A Geek, but I'll never admit it.)

Let's Talk About: Heroes (July 16, 2013)

I am notorious for not even wanting to watch shows because my first impressions of them (whether it be from commercials or word of mouth from my friends or the internet) are usually ones of "Ugh, no. That sounds stupid."

I am almost always wrong.

Also, I kind of have that curse, where when I finally DO get into a show...

...it gets cancelled.
